  1. The community breathed a sigh of relief early this morning when the Washington County Sheriff's Office tweeted that missing teen Ariel Moritz had been found. The agency looked to the community for help locating the 13-year-old after he disappeared from his home in Oak Hills Saturday evening. (KPTV.com)
  2. Congressional Gold Medal winner Fred Cheong Lee died on August 12, the Oregonian reports. Mr. Lee was among the oldest surviving Chinese American veterans of World War II, serving in the military at a time when the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 limited his rights of citizenship. (OregonLive)
  3. Explore the stories of those who donated organs with Donate Life Northwest's annual quilt unveiling. The event raises awareness for organ, eye and tissue donations with a quilt made of squares created by those impacted by donations.   4. Bowerman Track Club runner Emily Infeld shared her harrowing tale of the stalker who derailed her Tokyo Olympics goals. Her three-year ordeal forced her to relocate multiple times because of a mentally ill man who first claimed to be a coach and later said he was seeking to kill her.   5. Beaverton officially welcomes the new city manager, Jenny Haruyama, today. She moved from her last post as city manager in Lacey, California, to Beaverton a few weeks ago with her family and dogs.
