Here are the top stories today in Beaverton:
- Nike gives a shout-out to its roots with one of its latest shoes, Air Max 95 "AMRC." The performance footwear features a tab that reads "BVRTN, OR." Get a gander of the fresh kicks at The Sole Supplier before the official November 18 release date.
- Head over to KOIN.com to find out about a local software company's efforts to give back to teachers. Vernier Software and Technology is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, and in recognition of the occasion, it's awarding 40 teachers with $1,000 for STEM supplies. - Although most residents of WashCo are vaccinated, COVD-19 remains a threat. KATU offers a breakdown of the most recent coronavirus cases and deaths by county. Washington County reported 83 new cases on November 2 and at least two deaths.
- And here's more Nike news: Experts say the apparel giant is taking steps toward being able to sell digital sneakers and clothing. This might mean your mii might get to wear the iconic swoosh as they gather weeds in a game like Animal Crossing. Nike's trademark applications would also prevent counterfeit goods from appearing in video games and other virtual environments. (KOIN)
- Here's your weekly(ish) round-up of local houses for sale in our area: There's a couple beautiful giants in the 97229 zip code, plus a couple more "moderately-priced" family options in the $700,000 range. For those of you on a budget, check out the two-bedroom townhome in South Cooper Mountain at a mere $479,950. Get a glimpse of the offerings at Patch.
