Oregon Geography Bee: Back to Back Wins for Sixth Grader from Oregon Episcopal

A sixth grader at Oregon Episcopal School in Beaverton has won the Oregon Geography Bee for a second straight year.

Ashwin Sivakumar now heads to Washington, D.C. for the national championship sponsored by National Geographic in May.

Ashwin is the sixth person to win the Oregon contest more than once since it started almost 30 years ago.

He is still one win away from tying the three in a row record set by Samuel Brandt from Eugene in 2003-4-5.

Ashwin beat out more than 100 competitors from around Oregon to take the crown.
