  1. Share your thoughts on an upcoming road improvement project over at Washington County LUT's online open house. The agency has plans to make some changes to Springville Road, such as adding a center turn lane, bike lanes, sidewalks and streetlights. Improvements will extend from Portland Community College Rock Creek Campus to Joss Avenue.
  2. More on area land use and transportation: The Washington County Board of Commissioners proclaimed this month National Community Planning Month during their October 5 meeting. Washington County LUT shares info about the agency's role in the area as well as plans for the special month. Upcoming tasks will include a Countywide Transit Study, a review of the county road design and construction standards and implementation of House Bill 2001/Middle Housing.
  3. A local business is planning for growth, according to reporter Malia Spencer. Beaverton's CTL has been working in the Google hardware ecosystem since 2014, with ties to educational Chromebooks and Google Meet. The company sold its controlling stake to Seattle and San Francisco-based Columbia River Partners, anticipating the new investment will bring an opportunity to branch beyond hardware and into software and services. (Portland Business Journal)
  4. No dice if you're hoping to organize your reading wish list or otherwise use the Washington County Community Library catalog today or tomorrow. The agency reports that their site is getting a software upgrade. You'll also need your physical library card if you're hoping to check out items in person. (WCCLS)
  5. The Washington County District Attorney's office released details about a man convicted of stealing more than $35,000 from a popular beauty supply company. Surveillance footage shows that Quentin Lashawn Covington loaded up on expensive perfume and cologne and quickly exited without paying at multiple stores in the Portland Metro area. Covington was sentenced to 26 months in prison and ordered to pay restitution to the business. (Washington County DA)
