You've made it to Friday, neighbors! Let's start today off on an informed note. In today's Daily, we discuss where you can anxiously refresh a page in hopes the forecast will say 'snow,' how many community members are unemployed these days and some fun options for your evening.

Here are the top stories today in Beaverton:
- Get the highlights from Beaverton's win over Barlow on Wednesday night at OregonLive. The article features 40 photos of the Beavers and the Bruins in action. The non-league game offered both teams the opportunity to size up potential competitors for the 6A championships. Despite the final score of 39-28, attendees say it was close-fought for most of the game. One Bruins student-athlete commented that "it was encouraging to know that we can hang with the top team."
- The newest figures suggest that Beaverton-area unemployment rates are improving, according to Beaverton Patch. The Washington County unemployment rate was 2.9 percent in October, about half of what it was in October 2020 (5.8 percent). Oregon as a whole stood at 3.4 percent for October.

- A pilot is okay after a crash landing south of Hillsboro Thursday afternoon. The incident took place just north of Twin Oaks Airpark, which is near Cooper Mountain. TVF&R officials said they were still assessing the situation as of 3:50 PM. (Pamplin Media Group)
- Tigard police say they're investigating a possible carjacking that happened early Wednesday morning. A man says someone approached him as he neared his vehicle around 5:30 AM, threatening to shoot him and demanding his valuables. The man handed him the keys, and the individual took off in his car.
