The woman was pushing her Mazda Tribute Sunday evening when the vehicle began rolling on its own, ultimately pushing her to the ground.

BEAVERTON, OR — A pregnant woman was dragged and run over by her own vehicle Sunday evening in the Cedar Hills area of North Beaverton, according to Washington County Sheriff's officials.

Shortly after 7 p.m. Oct. 29, deputies were called to the 2300-block of Southwest Cedar Hills Boulevard on reports of a crash. At the scene, officers found a 2001 Mazda Tribute high-centered on a retaining wall and a woman on the ground nearby.

Witnesses told deputies that two women were pushing the Tribute after it had broken down on Southwest Cedar Hills Boulevard. Inside the vehicle were several children, police said.

As the Tribute crested a slight slope, it began rolling forward on its own, police said. One of the women, who is also pregnant, tried to step into the Tribute to stop its forward motion but ended up on the ground as the vehicle bowled her over and subsequently ran over her chest before coming to a stop on the retaining wall.
