Robbery At Washington Square Mall Jeweler Tuesday

Police reportedly arrested three suspects in Beaverton and are currently looking for a fourth. No injuries were reported.

TIGARD, OR — Three people are in custody following a robbery and police chase in Washington County Tuesday afternoon, according to Tigard police.

Police spokesman Jim Wolf said the robbery occurred shortly before 1 p.m. Aug. 29 at the Ben Bridge Jewelers at Washington Square Mall in Tigard, 9585 S.W. Washington Square Rd. Roughly $40,000 in jewelry was reportedly taken.

The mall was placed on lockdown for a short time after three people entered the jewelry store and reportedly began smashing glass cases with sledgehammers; KOIN News reports the suspects were after high-end watches. While witnesses reported hearing gunshots in the mall, Wolf said it was actually the sound of the robbers smashing the glass.
