  1. A special shoutout to all the Good Samaritans around town: One woman says more than a dozen people came to her aid after she suffered a crash in Beaverton on Monday. The accident occurred on Southwest Allen Boulevard and Southwest Alice Lane, leaving Christina Rider trapped in her car. Luckily, plenty of folks were on hand and ready to assist Rider, acting quickly to get her out of the vehicle. Take a look at photos of the scene and read more at KPTV.com.
  2. Beaverton schools' plan to initiate weekly COVID-19 screening for students rolls out next week. Hear more details on "Think Out Loud." (OPB News)
  3. October is National Bullying Prevention Month, and yesterday was National Stop Bullying Day. About 20 percent of kids ages 12 to 18 report being bullied, according to StopBullying.gov. Check out the article on KGW.com that offers tips for families, straight from a Beaverton school counselor, Beth Wright-Kuhns.
  4. Good news for all the gourmet ice cream lovers in town! Salt & Straw is coming to Beaverton. Known for crazy long lines and unexpected flavors, the popular business is planning to open a shop in Cedar Hills Crossing by next summer. Salt & Straw CEO Kim Malek says she wants to create a 'community gathering place' with the Beaverton locale. (OregonLive)
  5. As the federal vaccine mandate deadline nears, Allison Mechanic reports on the impact it could have on local hospitals and school districts. Over 94 percent of Beaverton School District staff have submitted vaccination documentation. OHSU, which now includes the former Tuality Health Center in Hillsboro, reports about 4 percent unvaccinated. Over at Legacy, they're 95 percent vaccinated. No word on Providence numbers yet. (KATU)
