Jason McEuin and Jackielyn Boyce are accused of stealing the Washington County Sheriff's bait package Monday night.

Hillsboro resident Jason Lynn McEuin, 47, and Forest Grove resident Jackielyn Dawn Boyce, 22, were taken to the Washington County Jail on a variety of charges:

  • Boyce is accused of felony mail theft, second degree theft, and a probation violation.

Both McEuin and Boyce have a history of charges for theft and possession of meth; Boyce was arrested in June for theft and possession, while McEuin has a considerably longer criminal history in Oregon, rife with possession and thefts charges as well as harassment, sex abuse, criminal mischief, burglary, and resisting arrest between 1992 and January 2017 — all in Washington County.

Just before 7:45 p.m. Dec. 18, a bait package alarm reportedly went off at a home near Southwest 167th Avenue and Southwest Rosa Road in the unincorporated Washington County community of Aloha. Using GPS, Washington County deputies tracked the package to a location about three blocks from where it had been taken, Talbot said in a statement.

While arresting Boyce and McEuin, deputies discovered a dozen pieces of mail belonging to three people who also live in the area, Talbot said.

It appears Boyce and McEuin may have been working with a network of apparent thieves all stealing mail and packages in the area, Talbot said, noting Boyce and McEuin "were likely monitoring a police scanner while committing the thefts."

On its third year, the Sheriff's bait package program multiple bait packages in the community in an effort to deter anyone seeking to steal gifts around the holidays.

This is the second bait package arrest this year. The first incident occurred Dec. 7 in Aloha, and saw the arrest of 27-year-old Gary Anthony Medeiros.
