Spring Break: Beaverton Libraries Host Free Activities for Kids, Teens All Week
All events and activities are free, though some require registration through the library website.

BEAVERTON, OR – From scavenger hunts to science experiments, the Beaverton City Library has plenty for kids to do during spring break –– and it's all free.
Hosting a week’s worth of fun activities at the main library (12375 S.W. Fifth St.) and Murray Scholls branch (11200 S.W. Murray Scholls Place, Suite 102), library officials have themed the spring break offerings around music.
To refine its Summer Reading Program, Youth Services Manager Victoria Campbell said the Beaverton libraries will use Spring Break to test specific activities and gauge kids' interest.

"It's a way for us to create a bunch of programs and, if they go well, use them again in the future," Campbell said.
The 2017 Summer Reading Program is based on Spring Break 2016's "Build a Better World" theme, Campbell said.

Special guests will include Mo Phillips, a Portland-based children’s musician and comedian, and Classical Close Up, which brings musicians from the Oregon Symphony Orchestra to private venues to share and celebrate music.
More than 500 kids and teens typically attend events and activities throughout Spring Break, Campbell said.
Registration, which is needed for some events, can be completed at the Beaverton library website or by calling 503-350-3600 (for the Main Library) or 503-644-2197 (for the Murray Scholls library).
