Sunset High School Has Increased Police Presence After Threat

There are extra police at Sunset High School in Beaverton Friday morning after threats on social media.

The threat, which mentioned weapons and violence, was deemed not credible.

The Beaverton Police Department posted a message from the Principal of Sunset High School.

The threat, which appeared on Instagram, was reported by students and passed on to the police.

Students in the Beaverton School District have been working with the police department on campus safety issues since the beginning of the year.

Students with the Beaverton Student Advisory Committee worked with the police in January to create two public service announcement videos.

There was also a threat Thursday at Gresham High School that was deemed not credible.
