Here are the top stories in Beaverton today:
- Loyal Legion, Southeast Portland's popular beer hall, opens TONIGHT in downtown Beaverton. The much-anticipated venue on Southwest Watson will feature 99 beers, burgers, sandwiches and plenty of plant-based options. - Cultivate gratitude with help from Patch! Tell someone in Beaverton that you're grateful for them and see it printed in the Beaverton Patch. Click the link for access to the form and an opportunity to spread some goodness.
- The Washington County Land Use & Transportation division shared in its latest newsletter that supply chain problems are impacting road projects. Shortages of aluminum are affecting the addition of new traffic signs, and steel shortages mean no new signposts, guardrails and other bridge materials. - And here's the list of traffic projects commencing in the next week so that you can plan your routes and avoid surprises:
- Evergreen Road/Jackson School Road intersection, traffic signal shutdown with flaggers, beginning November 17 (Wednesday) from 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM;
- Farmington Road/Grabhorn Road intersection, lane closures and traffic signal shutdown, beginning Sunday, November 14 through the 22, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM for Tualatin Valley Water District water main installation;
- Cornell Road/Cedar Hills Boulevard intersection, lane closures and traffic signal shutdown weekdays starting Monday, November 15 through 23 from 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM;
- West Union Road/143rd Avenue intersection, traffic signal shutdown with flaggers, 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM.
- More accolades for Desi Bites! Portland Monthly gave a shout-out to the Beaverton restaurant's Pani Puri, a popular puffed dough street food. Adjectives from Katherine Chew Hamilton's article included "crackly, velvety, starchy, fruity, hearty, light, and refreshing." The extra bonus of Desi Bite's offering: it comes un-assembled, which means it stays perfectly crisp until eating. (Portland Monthly)
