Here's a five-minute guide to the most important things going on today in Beaverton.

Get on up, Beaverton! If you're not busy running Hood to Coast, then check out all the local news that's fit to print, plus some ideas on how to spend this beautiful, blue-skied Saturday.
First, today's weather: Clear throughout the day. High: 84 Low: 60.
Here are the top stories today in Beaverton:
- Beaverton planning commissioners disappointed two South Cooper Mountain neighbors regarding road improvements this month. The families' properties front a section of Tile Flat Road that won't be improved, while the rest will be widened by developers. Locals testified that they believe the proposed plans will make the road more dangerous. City officials responded that they were not the right forum for complaint, according to Oregon law. Commissioner Kim Overhage suggested that these neighbors take the issue up with Washington County. (Pamplin Media Group)
- Adrian Meunier reports on updates about Stickmen Brewing's upcoming Beaverton location. The brewery had its humble beginnings in Lake Oswego in 2012 and gained popularity for its extensive beer list and generous lakeside patio. The Beaverton iteration will be near Northwest 118th Avenue and Barnes Road in Cedar Mill and will feature beer (naturally!), wine, cider and wood-fired pizzas. The new brewery is set to open in April. (OregonLive)
- Francisca Benitez highlights robots' increasing roles in the Northwest, including the friendly automatons at Top Burmese in downtown Beaverton. Restaurant owner Kalvin Myint says the robots save his servers time and effort. Plus, they certainly bring a unique dining experience! (OPB News)
- A glass of H2O might cost a bit more in Beaverton in the near future. City officials issued a Public Hearing Notice on Thursday regarding a water system rate increase. Estimates suggest that the 8.82 percent increase will work out to about an additional $18 per year for the average residential user. Learn more at the September 14 City Council meeting. - Camila Orti interviewed Beaverton pharmacists about filling Ivermectin prescriptions following an Oregon Poison Center report on increasing misuse of the drug. Local pharmacists and doctors say they're overwhelmed with inquiries and requests for the drug. Although there are studies done on Ivermectin's efficacy against COVID-19, experts say they haven't been done on a large enough scale. Wade Irby, a local pharmacist, calls the drug "a gray area."
