Here are the top five stories in Beaverton today:
- Here's one of the most recent updates on the Southridge students who were injured in the fatal collision on TV Highway and Murray Boulevard Wednesday: Skylar DeLarosa's parents say their son was a passenger in the Nissan Altima that ran the red light at the intersection. They described DeLarosa's condition as "really touch-and-go at this point." Another passenger, John Thompson, is listed as 'stable but critical.' The driver of the Altima was not killed and remains hospitalized. He has not yet been publicly identified. (KOIN.com)
- If you're a parent, it might be worthwhile to attend the tri-county event, Fake & Fatal: What Parents and Teens Need to Know About Fake Fentanyl Pills. It's hosted by the Vibrant Future Coalition and will feature parents Jon and Jennifer Epstein, whose son Cal was a student at Sunset High School when he died of a fentanyl overdose in 2020. (Twitter)
- Minimize delays while driving through Washington County by choosing a route that avoids roadway construction. Two projects are starting this week:
- The traffic signal will be shut down at the intersection of Borland Road and 65th Avenue from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. May 3 and 4;
- The traffic signal at the Brookwood Parkway and Huffman Road intersection will be shut down from 7 p.m.-5 a.m. today -May 5. (LUT News)
