Touchstone Preschool in Tigard Gives Back During the Holidays
Students held donation drives in support of Good Neighbor Center and The Salvation Army's Angel Tree program
Students at Touchstone Preschool in Tigard recently took part in two initiatives to give back this holiday season. In November, students held a food drive and donated $150’s worth of food to Good Neighbor Center in Tigard to help feed those in need around Thanksgiving. In December, students held a gift drive to fulfill the wishes of local children through The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program. Students donated 60 gifts to the children they sponsored. Through these initiatives, students learned the importance of spreading kindness and helping others.
Good Neighbor Center is dedicated to providing safe, emergency housing and supportive, empowering services for families. The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program provides new clothes and toys for 1 million children who usually go without gifts during the holiday season. Anonymous donors adopt these little "angels" in an expanding holiday tradition that makes the season brighter for both the gift giver and receiver.
