Tragedy Averted in Beaverton as Metal Bar Narrowly Misses Mother and Daughter

A mother and daughter driving on Highway 26 in Beaverton narrowly avoided serious injury when a piece of metal crashed through their windshield.

Beaverton Police say it appeared to be similar to a large mower blade that had been kicked up from the roadway.

It went through the windshield and lodged in the dashboard.

The teenage girl did get struck with several small glass fragments but did not have to go to the hospital.

Police believe the metal had most likely fallen off a moving vehicle.
