🌱Major Bus Line Changes + Invasive Beetles Down Locally
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Beaverton.

Good day, neighbors! Ash DeMello here with the latest copy of the Beaverton Daily.
First, today's weather:
Rain and drizzle in the morning. High: 44 Low: 40.
Here are the top five stories in Beaverton today:
- Get the latest "North of 26" road updates from the Cedar Mill News, including info on the project to widen Cornell between 102nd and 113th avenues. The efforts will not only add a third lane but will also bring in bike lanes and sidewalks, street lighting and storm drainage improvements. Construction will begin in March, and the county estimates that the project will be complete sometime in the summer of 2023.
- There's good news regarding the invasive Japanese beetle population in the area: Austin Johnson of the Oregon Department of Agriculture, Insect Pest Prevention & Management, reports that last year saw a 36 percent reduction in the number of beetles trapped in the treatment area over 2020. Treatments will continue through this year. (Cedar Mill News)
- Just a reminder for folks who take public transportation: TriMet is changing up transit lines in response to staff shortages beginning today. Click over to the article at KOIN.com for a complete list. Lines affected in our area include:
- Line 52-Farmington/185th
- Line 54-Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy
- Line 56-Scholls Ferry Rd
- Line 62-Murray Blvd
- Line 67-Bethany/158th
- Line 76-Hall/Greenburg
- Line78-Denney/Kerr Pkwy
- Forewarned is forearmed (with an umbrella, at least). Learn about the weather for the week to come over at Beaverton Patch. Anticipate less rain than we've been having recently and moderate temps.
- Catch up on high school sports with help from the weekly game schedule at Beaverton Patch. If you're into basketball, the time might be right to see those Beavers in action— the girls' team is ranked number one in the Metro area, and many games are now live-streamed.
