- A Conestoga Middle School Student is missing. Police are asking for the community's help locating 13-year-old Milana Li. They say she went missing near the intersection of SW Murray Boulevard and SW Scholls Ferry Road around 4 p.m. on Sunday evening. Click over to the article to see a picture and read a description. - Read the captivating tale of Ukrainian children fleeing to the home of a local family member from reporter Fedor Zarkhin. Natalia Shudruk, who lives in the Cedar Mill neighborhood, urged her sister to leave Ukraine with her children for months. Eventually, Shudruk's sister agreed to let two of her children relocate to Portland on six-month traveler's visas, accompanied by a grandmother. - A Beaverton High School grad just received a Tony nod, reports Bob Hicks. Shoshana Bean is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress for her work in Billy Crystal's "Mr. Saturday Night." (Oregon ArtsWatch)
- Beaverton locales featured prominently in a Willamette Week article about exciting new Metro-Area taprooms. The four local venues highlighted were White Oak Taphouse, Nebulous Taproom, Loyal Legion Beer Hall and Central Station Taps. WW staff expound on the latest additions to the drinkery scene, which somewhat help to make up for the places that went under during the pandemic.
- Learn about the seismic assessment of all BSD schools and buildings that happened in 2019 via Twitter. The district says that 40 of the 53 schools didn't meet current seismic safety standards, and they offer a visual explanation on YouTube. To fix the problem, BSD proposed a hefty bond measure, which will be featured on the May 17 ballot.
