The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Beaverton.

Happy Wednesday, Beaverton! Here are some of the main things to know today.
First, today's weather:
Rain; mixed with snow early. High: 42 Low: 41.
Here are the top stories in Beaverton today:
- Hear from Beaverton native Gloria Calderón Kellett on her new show that's set in Portland over on OregonLive. Kellett spent her early days in Beaverton, attending what's now Valley Catholic School and performing in a commercial for the Beaverton Mall at age 12. Today, she is the creative mind behind Amazon Prime Video's new series, "With Love."
- Did you awake to the white stuff Tuesday morning? News outlets say a light dusting of snow (less than 0.5") fell over Northwest Portland and the West Hills. As per usual, icy conditions left Oregon drivers befuddled, with accidents reported throughout Washington County, including in Hillsboro and Beaverton. (OregonLive)
- Beaverton community members joined forces to help homeless students on Monday. Mayor Lacey Beaty and other local folks distributed food for the winter break and other supplies to those in need at Beaverton High School. The efforts were sponsored by a city grant and the Oregon Food Bank, with a local church making the purchases and helping with distribution. (KATU)
- WashCo's chair is facing some criticism these days. Dan Tilkin reports on the acrimonious departure of Kathryn Harrington's former chief of staff, Elizabeth Mazzara Myers. Get the details at KOIN.
- Learn more about some of the latest guest curators for the Five Oaks Museum via the Press Release Desk. In October 2021, Portland Community College history instructor Israel Pastrana began sharing an exhibition about the racially-charged incidents at Forest Grove High School in 2016 and the subsequent walk-outs. Pastrana is also working alongside fellow PCC instructor Gabriel Higuera to develop a new Ethnic Studies Program at PCC.
