(Portland Tribune; subscription required)
- A local student is among the few honored as a 2022 U.S. Presidential Scholars finalist. Jenny Duan of Jesuit High School was one of just three Oregon and Washington teens to make the list, which totaled 161 nationwide. Nominees are invited to a special medal ceremony in Washington D.C. (KGW.com)
- Washington County's chief prosecutor position is up for grabs in the May 17 election. Reporter Noelle Cromby takes a look at the heated race for district attorney. Incumbent Kevin Barton is up against Brian Decker in what looks to be the state's second most expensive DA race in history. (OregonLive)
- Find out what's been going on in and around City Hall in Thursday's edition of Your Beaverton. Among other tidbits, City Council met with the Beaverton Urban Redevelopment Agency to discuss parking downtown, Bike Beaverton is scheduled for May 22 and the mayor proclaimed May 2022 as Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
- April 2022 was the rainiest in a while, but the subsequent May flowers have almost made it worth it. Discover where to see wildflowers in the area in an article from the Washington County Visitors Association.
