Hello Beaverton. Let's start this Sunday with a quick tour of local news, shall we?

Here are the top stories today in Beaverton:
- Washington County is expanding the capacity of emergency winter shelters into the spring, including shelters in Hillsboro and Beaverton. Washington County officials say the extension will allow residents to find more permanent housing for the summer. The hotel voucher program will also be extended until May 31. (KATU)
- Police were called to Washington Square to subdue and detain two people who were involved in an altercation yesterday. KOIN has some graphic video of the takedown. Police didn't say what led to the altercation but it may have involved a weapon. The mall was not placed in lockdown and police say there is no threat to the public. (KOIN)
- A man was sentenced to three years of formal probation for the violence at a Hindu temple in Hillsboro last August. A judge found that Sean Michel-White was guilty of knocking over statues, hitting two members of the congregation and trying to bite others, causing injury to multiple people. The incident began when the Michel-White entered the temple and was asked to wear a mask. (KATU)
- Washington County Chair Kathryn Harrington is under fire as a report surfaces that accuses her of creating a hostile work environment both at Washington County and in her previous job with METRO. An official report revealed several instances in which Harrington is said to have engaged in "yelling/ screaming, engaging in unprofessional and disrespectful conduct" towards others. Harrington told investigators that she is "not rude and that no one told her that any county employee felt bullied or intimidated." The report was prepared by an outside firm hired to investigate by Washington County. (KOIN)
- Beaverton resident Jonathan Martinez's Aztec dance group, Mitotilizti Tezkatiopoka, received a $5,000 grant through the state of Oregon's Traditional Arts Recovery Program. The dance group says they will use the money to host a Dia de los Muertos event next November. The dance group was one of 15 traditional artists or groups selected to receive the grants. Today in Beaverton:
- The small, female-run professional photography business, Shoott, in Tigard is offering free 30 minute mini photo sessions today beginning at 9 a.m. Sunday's photo shoot will take place at 11450 SW Winter Lake Drive in Tigard. Bring family, friends or furry loved ones and capture the moment. While the photo shoot is free, the photos must be purchased but the company is offering a special discount code: PATCHPHOTO, for 15% off for five or more photos.
- Street Illusions is sponsoring a car meet in Beaverton behind the library at Scholls and Murray at the Murray Scholls Town Center from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All cars are welcome to participate. There is no fee. Come meet other car enthusiasts and check out the sweet rides.
- The Beaverton Symphony Orchestra will be performing at 330 SW Murray Boulevard between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. The concert will focus on chamber music. Tickets start at $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and students.
