🌱Where To Cycle In Tualatin Valley + Beaverton's 30 Best Restaurants

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Beaverton.

(Patch Media)

Welcome back, Beaverton! It's Monday, so let's get you started with everything you need to know going on the work week in Beaverton.

First, today's weather:

Cooler with a few showers. High: 58 Low: 43.

Here are the top five stories today in Beaverton:

  1. A Willamette Week writer offers a hot take on utilizing Lake Oswego's Oswego Lake. According to reporter Martin Cizmar, the notoriously "private" lake is not private at all. His argument is supported by Michael Blumm, a Lewis & Clark law professor, and the Oregon attorney general. Click over to the article to read more about the embattled body of water effectively inaccessible to two-thirds of the residents of the eponymous town.
  2. There are two Washington County roadway projects starting this week to know about (and avoid congestion and delays!):
    • Brookman Road will be closed between Ladd Hill and Middleton roads through May 25 for waterline installation
    • The traffic signal will be shut down at the Cornell Road and Trail Avenue intersection from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. April 27-29 for utility work. (LUT News)
  3. Catch the latest blog from the Tualatin Valley Visitors Association about where to ride your bike in the area. Whether you're looking to rack up the miles as fast as possible or just want to get your legs moving in a leisurely manner, there's an option for you! You can also order a free Tualatin Valley bike map to keep you oriented when you hit the pedals.
  4. See five of the newest houses to hit the market in Beaverton at the Beaverton Patch. Snag a two-bedroom condo on Barnes Road for $185,000 or a roomy five-bedroom number in Sexton Mountain for just under a million. There are many options in between, too!
  5. Click over for a list of events coming to The Reser Center in the next few weeks. Highlights include an artist talk regarding the Celilo Falls-themed exhibition that's currently on display at the venue on April 30 (free in the lobby) and a performance by the internationally renowned Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana Dance Company on May 3. About me: I always seem to confuse Cedar Mill and Cedar Hills. (Note to self: Cedar Mill — north of 26, Cornell, Sunset HS; Cedar Hills — shopping, WinCo, Shake Shack.) Bonus points for readers who call me out.
