1. Winter Ready Fair Prepare For Seasonal Emergencies (rogueriverpress.com) — A free Winter Ready safety fair is coming to the Jackson County Expo's Mace Watchable Wildlife Center on Peninger Road in Central Point on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Families can learn how to prepare for winter storms and emergencies following a tough wildfire season, with kid-friendly activities and resources aimed at helping Central Point and Jackson County residents get ready together.
2. Pacific Power Foundation awards $56,000 to 13 Southern Oregon organizations (rv-times.com) — Two Central Point groups just received a boost from the Pacific Power Foundation, with Central Point Little League and the Central Point Parks and Recreation Foundation each awarded $2,000. They're among 13 Southern Oregon organizations sharing $56,000 in grants aimed at outdoor education, volunteer projects, and skills training, bringing fresh resources to local youth programs and community improvements.
3. Mrs. Virginia Ruth Adams (rv-times.com) — Central Point readers are remembering Virginia Ruth Adams, who spent part of her long banking career at First National Bank in Central Point before many years serving customers in Medford. Born in 1927 and passing on Sept. 10, 2026, she is recalled as a gifted storyteller, devoted cook, and loving grandmother, and will be interred with her husband at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
4. Medford Man Jailed After Pursuits, Drug Seizures (rogueriverpress.com) — Central Point police were involved in a Sept. 19 attempted traffic stop that led to the arrest of a Medford man now facing drug, firearm, and eluding charges. Authorities say two separate pursuits ended in crashes, with searches reportedly uncovering fentanyl, heroin, meth, and a loaded handgun, underscoring ongoing regional drug and public safety concerns for Central Point and nearby communities.
