• Driver charged after SUV slams into Florence motel room (kezi.com) — A late-August crash left a Florence motel room destroyed and a woman trapped and injured after an SUV allegedly sped across Highway 101, hit an office building, and plowed into the Travelodge. Florence police say the driver, also hospitalized, is now charged with DUII, assault, reckless driving, and other offenses, with the case moving from the city jail to Lane County corrections.
