• East Gresham Elementary celebrates students on first day (theoutlookonline.com) — Students at East Gresham Elementary got a red-carpet welcome back to school, as Gresham-Barlow's superintendent and staff focused on making the first day joyful and inviting. District leaders also stressed a major new push to improve attendance, especially at Gresham High and Barlow, urging parents and teens to prioritize showing up so kids don't miss learning or social connections.
• Suspect in fatal Gresham apartment shooting arrested (kgw.com) — Gresham police say a suspect has been arrested in the June shooting death of 25-year-old D'Angelo Adams at the Rockwood Village Apartments. Officers took 28-year-old Marcell Trotter into custody after a traffic stop in East Portland, and the East County Major Crimes Team is still investigating, asking anyone with information to contact Gresham detectives by email.
