She now faces three counts of second-degree child neglect and is scheduled to return to court in early October.

• Police K-9 shot, killed on last shift before retirement during deadly officer-involved shooting (kold.com) — Gresham police are investigating a homicide discovered during a welfare check at a Southeast Market Street home, while Portland officers fatally shot the suspected killer near a hotel later that day. A Portland police K-9, Kylo, was also killed in the shootout, and East County detectives are now handling both the Gresham homicide and related investigations.
