Dozens Cited in Gresham Safety Crackdown

Four hour safety mission results in 36 citations.

A four hour safety mission by the Gresham Police Department resulted in dozens of citations for people not following the law. The mission was targeted at drivers endangering pedestrians.

Officers set up at the intersection of West Powell Boulevard and West Powell Loop.

"The goal of the mission was to raise safety awareness for drivers and pedestrians regarding pedestrian right-of-way laws," said a spokesman for the department. "This was accomplished through handing out educational brochures and citations over a four-hour period."
