Eagle Creek Fire: ODOT Reopens Eastbound Interstate-84

In the latest fire update, the burn zone remains 46 percent contained at 48,668 acres.

TROUTDALE, OR — Eastbound Interstate-84 was reopened Saturday, Oregon Department of Transportation officials said. While traffic is now flowing in both directions through the Columbia River Gorge, officials request commuters stay alert to changing conditions and respect area-specific closures.

Conditions along the Eagle Creek Fire burn scar, such as unstable rocks and trees as well as the potential for landslides, remain a threat to public safety, officials said.
