Early Morning Crash Traps Driver, Closes Roads

Traffic expected to be affected for hours - through much of Tuesday afternoon.

An early morning crash on Halsey near 183rd in Gresham trapped a driver for hours.

The driver - whose semi-truck had been hit by a Honda Accord straight on - was not injured.

But a power line fell on his truck trapping him until power could be turned off.

The driver of the Accord and three others were take to hospitals.

Only one had serious injuries.

Gresham Police say the crash - which happened just before 3:00 Tuesday morning - is expected to take up to ten hours to get clear.

Police say that the Accord was going at a "high rate of speed when it veered across four lanes of traffic into the truck.

The driver of the Accord has been identified as 24-year-old Benjamin Crawford of Gladstone. He has since been released and is not in custody as the investigation continues.
