Gresham Burglary Suspect Nabbed on Weapons Charges
Suspect, John Jeffrey Shelton, was fingered by ATF "confidential source."

A convicted felon is back in jail, charged with weapons possession after being stopped in connection with a burglary in which 30 guns disappeared.
John Jeffrey Shelton, was stopped by ATF agents after he was identified by a "confidential source" as being connected to a burglary in Gresham the week before.
Shelton allegedly showed the source pictures of guns he was trying to sell.

Those photos were then shown to the person in Gresham whose guns were stolen. That person said they appeared to be his guns.
The "confidential source" - who has multiple felony convictions in Oregon - told the ATF that he would be willing to "assist law enforcement for consideration on a pending state drug charge," according to court papers.

The source then wore a "wire" and recorded Shelton agreeing to sell him guns, according to court papers.
Shelton was arrested that night.
Court papers say that Shelton has previous convictions in Oregon for a variety of felonies including kidnapping, weapons charges, and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
He will be back in court on May 25.
