Gresham Man Charged with Beating, Burning Children, Pleads Not Guilty

A man accused of using a burning his girlfriend's children and using a brush to beat them, has pleaded not guilty to those charges.

Saul Jackson is charged with ten counts of criminal mistreatment and assault for how he treated the kids, who were ages 6, 7, and 8 when the attacks occurred.

The kids, who are in protective custody, showed evidence of abuse and told investigators of being beaten, burned, and cut.

The indictment came after an investigation by the Gresham and Portland Police as well as the state's Department of Human Services.
