Stiles was reportedly driving toward Portland Road when the officer initiated a traffic stop. Rather than pull over, however, Stiles reportedly fled north.

As Stiles made a turn onto Portland Road, he struck a southbound 2015 Toyota RAV4, police said. The driver of the RAV4 was reportedly uninjured, but Stiles continued down Portland Road to the Interstate-5 overpass, where he struck a black 2007 Honda Accord that was turning south onto Portland Road from Haysville Drive Northeast, about a mile and a half from where the chase began.
