Gresham Postal Worker Gets Probation for Stealing Mail

Kathleen Benting admitted to stealing coupons.

A Postal worker with a route in Gresham admitted Thursday she had stolen mail and was sentenced to 18 months probation.

Kathleen Benting had stolen coupons for stores including Kohl's and Victoria's Secret.

Investigators had received a tip last year and she was arrested last year. Detectives found more than 100 pieces of mail in her car.

She had worked the route for 15 years.

Investigators did not find any evidence indicating she had stolen anything other than coupons.

She was allowed to retire and the conviction does not affect her pension.
