They arrived at the Village Court apartments and found the injured man in the parking lot.
He had been shot at least one time, though police say several other shots were fired.
One bullet entered a nearby apartment.
No one else was injured.
The suspect is described only as Hispanic male in his early 20s, standing around 5'8", and thin.
