A man who fired at two police officers was indicted for attempted murder by a Mutnomah County Grand Jury.
David Allen Charlton was shot by officers on April 27 after he opened fire on them.
He had crashed a car on the 200 block of SE 188th Avenue in Gresham and fled.

Charlton was confronted by two officers - one from Fairview and one from Gresham - who were patrolling as partners in the East Metro Gang Enforcement Team.
Charlton and the Fairview officer were shot during the incident.

The officer was treated and released from the hospital the next day.
Charlton, who is scheduled to appear in court Friday on the indictment, is still hospitalized and likely won't make the hearing.
As it turns out, Charlton was wanted for a federal parole violation warrant for a bank robbery.
In addition to the warrant, Charlton faces charges of attempted murder, assault, weapons charges, and drug charges.
