Mother Who Killed Son Seeks Release on Bail

Dianne Davidoff, who shot and killed her son last September, is seeking release on bail as she awaits trial.

Davidoff was arrested at their home in Gresham.

Earlier in the day, she had signed papers to sell her home and was said to have been distraught over the amount she would receive. She had been forced to sell the home because of financial problems.

Davidoff had been receiving unemployment for several months and she and her family was moving into her parents's home.

That evening, police were called to her home around 7:30.

They found Davidoff pumping the chest of her 17-year-old son, Jacob.

"I killed my Jakey," she was screaming. "I can't believe I killed my Jakey."

At a hearing, she was found to be incapable to assisting in her own defense and was sent to the Oregon State Hospital for observation.

This is her first hearing since then.
