Multnomah County Approves Nearly $2 Billion Budget

These are some of the projects being funded in the nearly $2 billion budget approved by Multnomah County Thursday.

The budget has money for a diversion program and a mental health screening program.
The commission also modified a proposal from County Commission Chairwoman Deborah Kafoury to eliminated 118 jail beds.
Instead the commission adopted a plan that would close one 59-bed dorm at the end of September and another at the end of the year.
