New Gresham Rotary Club President Will Hit the Ground Running

The club's new appointee will fill a highly regarded position, but must quickly fill key positions.

The Rotary Club of Gresham announced Sunday that they have made a decision on their new 2016-17 President.

The club’s Facebook page named Diane Noriega as the Board’s choice for the position, now vacant due to the current President's new employment. She is currently Public Relations Chair for the club and District 5100 Membership Chair, and served as President for 2012-13.

Though she does not take the reigns officially until July 1, the page said Noriega is already scrambling to fill critical committee chair positions. She also made it clear that managing the position was only possible for her if everyone stepped up and made sure that all the bases were covered.

Noriega will work to put together a planning meeting for board members as well as a cross section of club members towards the end of June. Club members, however, should expect a call soon if they are qualified to fill any open positions.

The club meets at the M & M Restaurant & Lounge weekly on Wednesdays at noon.
