With time off for good behavior, he could see his sentence reduced by 20 percent. He could serve less than three years for killing Kemble.
If Kemble had not taken the plea deal, he faced the possibility of a mandatory sentence of six-years if he had gone to trial and been convicted of the most serious charge.
Walters also agreed to give up his driver's license for five years and will pay $5,000 to the family of his victim.
