Seven Protesters Arrested at Gresham Council Meeting

Gresham has a hard time dealing with the growing homeless population and the issue boiled over Tuesday when seven people were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

The issue has been at the top of city priorities.

Last week the city sent out word it's looking for citizens to serve on a task force to examine the issue of homelessness.

One of the flash points has been the area known as Gresham Woods had become a place for homeless people to spend the night.

That changed a couple of weeks ago when the city fenced it off after receiving complaints from city residents.

The protesters are asking for a part of the area to be reopen for the homeless.
