Sheriff Staton Faces Possible No-Confidence Vote Says Report

Portland Tribune quotes association head saying a vote could be coming.

Multnomah County Sheriff Dan Staton faces a possible no-confidence vote, according to a report in The Portland Tribune.

The paper quotes the president of the Multnomah County Deputy Sheriff's Association as saying "the members overwhelmingly were in support of taking action to decide how to address the problem of what they perceive as the failed leadership of the sheriff."

Staton told the paper he is "being tried by the media."

Currently, the Oregon Department of Justice is investigating whether he conducted improper probes into members of a county oversight committee.

Staton has maintained he did nothing wrong and will be cleared.
