Victim in Fatal Crash Identified as Gresham Man
Michael John Simi was crossing the street when a woman driving a SUV hit him. He died later at the hospital.
Gresham Police have identified the man who died Friday night after being hit by a SUV as 56-year-old Michael John Simi of Gresham. He was crossing Northeast 181st Avenue at Northeast Wasco Street when he was hit.
Police say that Simi was thrown several feet. He died later at a hospital. The crash happened just before 10:00 Friday night.
The woman who driving the SUV, 56-year-old Janice Kay Taylor, was arrested and charged with manslaughter, driving under the influence, and reckless driving.
