What's the Most Stolen Car in Oregon? The 1994 Honda Accord

A new report from the National Insurance Crime Bureau ranks the top most often stolen cars in the state and the nation.

If you are driving a 1994 Honda Accord in Oregon, you might want to make sure the windows are up and the doors are locked when you park. That's according to a new report that says it was the most stolen car in Oregon last year.

The National Insurance Crime Bureau released a report listing not only the most often stolen cars in Oregon but in each of the 50 states as well as nationwide.

The report is based on vehicle theft data submitted by law enforcement agencies to the National Cime Information Center.

In Oregon, the most stolen cars were:

3. 1998 Subaru Legacy

4. 2004 Full size Ford Pickup

5. 1990 Toyota Camry

6. 1999 Full size Chevrolet Pickup

7. 1994 Acura Integra

8. 1999 Subaru Impreza

9. 1999 Honda CR-V

10. 1994 Jeep Cherokee/Grand Cherokee

"While older vehicles still dominate our Hot Wheels most stolen list, the number of late model
vehicles with anti-theft protection on the list goes to show that technology isn’t foolproof,"
said NICB President and CEO Joe Wehrle.

"Criminals are doing their best to defeat anti-theft technology through hacking and other means while, at the same time, manufacturers and others are working to improve security."

Nationwide, the most stolen cars were:

1. 1996 Honda Accord

2. 1998 Honda Civic

3. 2006 Ford Pickup (Full Size)

4. 2004 Chevrolet Pickup (Full Size)

5. 2014 Toyota Camry

6. 2001 Dodge Pickup (Full Size)

7. 2014 Toyota Corolla

8. 2015 Nissan Altima

9. 2002 Dodge Caravan

10. 2008 Chevrolet Impala

The report suggests several ways to help keep your car safe including common sense, having a warning device, and having a tracking device.
