Woman Who Had Been Charged with Manslaughter Sees Charges Dropped

Janice Taylor isn't out of the woods yet as the investigation continues.

A woman who had been charged with manslaughter and reckless driving is out of jail after the charges against were dismissed. Janice Taylor could still faces charges as the investigation continues.

Taylor was arrested on September 30th after she struck Michael Simi with her SUV as she was crossing Northeast 181st Avenue at Wasco Avenue. Simi died later at the hospital.

She was charged with manslaughter, reckless driving, and driving under the influence.

The judges dismissed the charges after prosecutors did not present the case to the grand jury. The investigation, however, is continuing and could still end up before a grand jury.
