• 17, including 4 teens, arrested in retail theft sting in Hillsboro (kgw.com) — Hillsboro police arrested 17 people, including four teenagers, during a targeted retail theft "blitz" that recovered more than 100 stolen items from local stores. Funded by Oregon's Organized Retail Theft Grant, the operation also nabbed suspects with outstanding warrants and supports upgraded security cameras for small and mid-sized Washington County retailers.
• State housing agency keeps blowing past its own construction-cost benchmark (philomathnews.com) — A Hillsboro-based nonprofit developer, Bienestar, is under scrutiny as state housing officials approve an expensive McMinnville project while Oregon's housing agency repeatedly exceeds its own national construction-cost benchmark.
