Democrats Charge Republican Running in Hillsboro Lives Elsewhere

A Republican running for the state house district covering parts of Hillsboro and Wilsonville does not live in the district, according to a complaint filed by the political action committee affiliated with the House Democrats.

The complaint charges that Rich Vial does not live at the address he used to file his campaign. The complaint was first reported by the Oregonian.

Republicans maintain the allegation is without merit.

Vial is running to succeed John Davis who currently holds the seat but is retiring.

Regardless of what the investigation into his residency finds, Vial will remain on the ballot in November. If it turns out, he lives outside the district, action would happen after the election.
