Discovery Of Explosive Devices Lead To Schools Being Placed On Locked Out

Police think the "devices" might have been a student experimenting.

The discovery of five plastic bottles with a corrosive liquid led to two Hillsboro schools being placed on lockout briefly Tuesday morning. For a couple of hours, no one was allowed to enter R.A. Brown Middle School and Ladd Acres Elementary School.

A parks employee had found one of the bottles at Reedville Creek Park and it's top blew off when the picked up. The worker was not injured.

All of the bottles - which were found at different locations in the park - had aluminum foil and some sort of liquid.

The Metro area bomb squad helped dispose of the bottles. Police did not consider the public to be in any danger.

Police think that a student or students may have been responsible. The investigation continues.
