A threat on a bathroom wall said there would be violence Thursday.

Extra police are on patrol at Liberty High School after a threat was found on the boy's bathroom wall.

Rouches said after the threat was discovered, school officials notified the police and notified parents in an auto-call.

"We wanted to let you know that we discovered a threat written on a bathroom stall that referenced violence at the school today," Liberty Principal Greg Timmons said in a statement on the school's website.

"Please know that in the vast majority of these types of incidents, the messages are student pranks. However, we wanted you to be aware that there will be an increased police presence at the school this morning, both to investigate and to ensure the safety of students, staff, and any visitors to the school."

Rouches said the threat was non-specific and the school remains open.

It's their last half-day of the year," Rouches said. "The school wanted to make sure to give parents the option of  keeping their kids home."
