Five Arrested In Cornelius After Day-Long Police Operation
Police seized one pound of methamphetamine, six firearms, and about $3,800 in cash as a result of the interagency sting on June 15.

CORNELIUS, OR — Washington County Sheriff's deputies last week arrested five people as part of an interagency mission to target problem houses in Cornelius.
Working with investigators from the Westside Interagency Narcotics Team (WIN), the Washington County Interagency Gang Team (IGET), the Criminal Apprehension Team (CAT), and officers from the Hillsboro Police Department, WCSO deputies servicing Cornelius began targeting homes in the city that generate a lot of police calls and are suspected of hosting illegal activity, officials said.
Throughout the June 15 operation, which resulted in five arrests, law enforcement also seized roughly one pound of methamphetamine, six firearms, and about $3,800 in cash.

During a traffic stop in the 2500-block of Southwest Golf Course Road around 7:15 p.m., deputies arrested Forest Grove resident Cynthia Silva, 39, and Cornelius resident Jose Cervantez, 36. About half an ounce of methamphetamine was seized, and Cervantez was additionally charged with violating a restraining order, officials said.
At a traffic stop in the area of Southeast Third Avenue and Southeast Baseline Street, deputies arrested Teresa Navarro, 41, on charges of distribution of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). About three ounces of meth was seized, officials said.

Serving a search warrant at 706 S. Eighth Ave., deputies seized three pistols, two shotguns, a rifle, nearly one pound of meth, and $3,800 in cash. Arrested were Vince Breiding, 52, for distribution of a controlled substance, and Dawn Lamping, 53, for a felony federal parole warrant, officials said.
"Cornelius and its residents are incredible and we want everyone to help make it a safer community," WCSO/Cornelius Chief of Police Al Roque said in a statement. "If you see a crime or any suspicious activity please call our deputies to come check it out, we can't do it without the community's help. If you see something say something."
