Forest Grove Man Dead, Beaverton Woman in Custody Following Car-on-Pedestrian Accident Saturday
The victim was reportedly walking to work Saturday night when he was struck and killed along Pacific Avenue.

FOREST GROVE, OR – A man is dead and a woman is in custody following a car-on-pedestrian accident in Forest Grove Saturday.
Just after 10:30 p.m. Mar. 18, Forest Grove Fire & Rescue and police personnel responded to an auto versus pedestrian crash in the 3400 block of Pacific Avenue.
The victim, 22-year-old Jonathan Dominguez Esquivel of Forest Grove, was reportedly walking to his job at Safeway along the road’s shoulder when 27-year-old Bethany Lumber allegedly struck him with her vehicle.

Police found Lumber roughly 100 yards east of the crash location, according to Forest Grove police spokesman Capt. Mike Herb. Esquivel was pronounced dead upon his arrival to Legacy Emanuel Hospital by Life-Flight.
Lumber, a Beaverton resident, was arrested after officers believed her to be intoxicated, Herb said. She is being held in the Washington County Jail, charged with manslaughter, second-degree driving under the influence of intoxicants, and second-degree criminal mischief.
